Well while I'm sharing projects, I'll share one more.
I hope this helps some one.
I have, and really appreciate, my Surf / Pier cart and couldn't live with out it but the tiny little cutting board that came with it was useless to me and to make matters worse, they cut the entire center of the cutting board out to drop in a basket which I had no use for.
This is what I came up with.
1. I purchased a much larger cutting board and attached it directly over the existing one with epoxy.
I then drilled it with different size holes all the way around the perimeter to hold plugs and rigs.
2. I drilled it to hold bait knife, flash light, fish club, knife sharpener and pliers.
3. I attached a large spool of 80 lb. Test mono to the underside for making leaders and rigs and then drilled the cutting board above the spool, inserted a solid rubber plug flush with the top and drilled it so that the line comes up through the top of the board so that I can pull off as much as I need at a time.
4. I attached a small spool of 50 lb. mono, also for making leaders and rigs.
I attached a rod holder to the cutting board. It swivels and mounts the rod in any position for rigging or for bait fishing.
The entire thing is on the original tube that fits in to the pier cart rod holders but now I can carry the whole thing and place it in a adjustable rod holder on my boat when I'm not using the cart.
It creates the perfect rigging station on the boat, pier or on the beach and the holes around the perimeter allow me to simply drop rigged baits and lures in to it securely with out having to get in and out of my tackle bag a hundred times a day..
The pictures aren't great. If you have any questions let me know.
I'll take better pictures if need be.
